From the Oscars red carpet.

What a night last night! I stayed up all night.

Oh, what a nice, pretty, charming and beautiful little niece Viggo has. One of the girls in ATV told us that her name is Sidney. I hope someone will post some pics in here because there are a lot of pics.

Viggo arriving on the red carpet. He looks wonderful. The long coat is nice but it is that cravat tie and red rose that really stands out. Lovely.



It was surprising that he brought his young niece Sydney to the awards. She is just stunning and what a demure, classy and elegant gown for a young lady to wear. She will no doubt be a fashion setter for a lot of young ladies.



And here is my favourite picture of the night. Re-uniting of two colleagues from Lord of the Rings. And possibly an up and coming fan.



I hadn't watched the Oscars in years but it was almost a thrilling experience that I recall from my young days which really hadn't occurred to me until they did some retrospective collages. I thought about the history of the movie making, all the talent over the years, the things we the audience sometimes take for granted. Theirs (the celebrities) may be the world of glamour and at times the superficial but they work hard for their money, their fame and it should be recognized. I wonder if young Miss Sydney had an appreciation for the world her uncle brought her to experience and to feel how his part in all this is as important a role in the industry as all those people who have graced the red carpets for 80 years. I hope she got a touch of that magic mostly -- feeling like Cinderella at the ball.

Finally she must have been the proudest escort there. If not the luckiest!
