Raccoons have delighted me since I was a child when I used to watch them from my bedroom window eating out of what looked to be silver plates. Actually they were foil pans that my mom used to lay out with food unbeknownst to the rest of us. She couldn't help herself. Smile Then one day one got in the house and into her pantry cabinet - where it made a huge mess all over the house. It was one of the things mentioned in her eulogy how she loved animals and especially her escapades with raccoons -- which were many. Rolling Eyes

Thanks for posting their pics Jen. They're beautiful.

That is a sweet story Kal. They can be quite messy. They seem to be better at pulling things out of the cupboards, drawers and fridge than they are at putting them back. Try as I might, I have never managed to get them to put their banana peels or grape stems in the garbage.

Yesterday one apparently came into the house, because when I looked out there it was in the middle of the back lawn happily sitting eating a cookie from a nice and unopened tray I had just bought to take to a meeting. I tried to explain that cookies were really not good for it, but it growled in protest and went on eating until I began to approach, and then it picked up the tray of cookies and made it's way back up into the tree.

Oh, Jen! Your twins have the same effect on me like Viggo has. They simply make me smile. And the crazy seagull too!! I wonder what is the the bag it steals. Something like chips (French potatoes) I guess. In the center of Aalborg the seagulls are also so very obtusive around the places where you can by something to eat (like hotdogs = a sausage in bread with garniture). The seagulls often steal the small bits of bread just before the beak of the doves.

Thank you very much for posting the pics, Jen!

You are welcome Vigs. I wish I could have caught the raccoons without the glare of the flash on their eyes, but it is dark under the balcony and they don't keep still long enough to use a slow shutter speed.

The seagull has a bag of Cheesies or Cheese Puffs (both come in those orange bags) which are something like potato chips or potato crisps.

When it comes to wildlife I just remembered, that yesterday on the news some villagers were crying, for a big bear went in the village and ate most of the animals, they had in their yards. The worst is that a mother if a child, whom the bear almost killed, shooted the bear. The bear is protected by low and now the mother will be charged and will go to jail for 2 years.
That's awuful. The judge is an awuful and corrupted person, the prosecutor is a new in the branche and wants to win the case. So the mother, who saved her son's life will be in prison for killing a bear. Evil or Very Mad

I've just tried to bring some pics from my new digital camera into my computer and upload them to my Photobucket. It's strange because I can do it with some pics but not with others. Sometimes because they are too large but the programme to make them smaller will only resize some of them so it seems I can't show all pics. The one of my woven rug is so wrong that I can't resize it.

But I managed to upload a pic of my mothers big, grey male cat which I photographed last weekend when I was with my mum. He is nice when the female cats (his own daughters aren't there - else he tries to do what male cats do to female cats). Here he is:

Local Wildlife - Page 2 September2008004

Sorry it's so small! I was afraid it was large. But you can see the cat anyway!

I still have a lot to learn about using the camera.
